Cuban-American Proxy Terrorist leads Congressional Effort to Limit Travel to Cuba

The scion of one of the most despised families who were the dregs of the Batista Dictatorship, Congressman Mario Diaz Balart is leading an effort in Congress to undermine efforts by President Obama’s to expand travel to Cuba. Like any devious character he operated at night sneaking language into a transportation funding bill prohibiting any funds from being used to support air or cruise ship travel to Cuba,

Diaz Balart’s father Rafael was Interior Minister under the Dictator Batista, one of the most brutal positions in the Regime. He is alleged to be responsible for ordering the murder of 10,000 Batista opponents. He also stands accused of having raped 74 school girls who his goons had scooped up off the streets of Havana to be put to work as prostitutes in American-owned brothels. The father is also suspected of flying to Paris when he fled Cuba with his family, and traveling by train to Switzerland where he emptied a secret Swiss bank account of Cuban funds.

His brother, former Congressman Lincoln Diaz Balart (referred to in the Miami media as the smarter of the two, though that’s not saying much) was ‘anointed’ by his father to be Cuba’s next president after the departure of the Castros. He maintains a website larosablanca.org which is his manifesto of  what kind of ‘government’ he and his thugs would implement.

The Diaz Balarts along with their soul mate Rep. Ileana Ros Lehtinen have long fought to protect terrorists Orlando Bosch and Luis Posada Carilles, terrorists who have murdered scores of innocent Cubans. In 2003 President George W. Bush stated that ‘if you give aid and comfort to terrorists, you are a terrorist.’ Hence US Representative Ileana Ros Lehtinen, Mario Diaz Balart, and former Representative Lincoln Diaz Balart are all proxy terrorists.

That individuals with the blood of scores of murder victims on their hands can drive US’ Cuba Policy is an abomination.

Cuba Wins Big in SOTU

Cuba was the winner on several fronts in tonight’s State of the Union address by President Barack Obama. And I am glad I watched it on NBC because I was pleasantly surprised seeing things people did not see on other networks with regards to reaction and chamber shots.

The first surprise came before the president entered the House Chamber. There was Senator Sheldon Whitehouse D-RI who was just in Cuba this weekend as part of Senator Patrick Leahy’s delegation. He was standing talking with Senator Bob Menendez D-NJ, an anti-Castro hardliner. When they showed them during the speech, seated to Menendez’ left was Senator Elizabeth Warren D-MA, replacement and protégé of Secretary John Kerry.

And approximately 40 minutes into the speech President Obama touched on the subject of Cuba. When he mentioned that the embargo was a 50 year failure and we needed a new approach, applause broke out in the chamber. One of the first people the camera focused on was Senator Marco Rubio sulking in his seat with a pouty look on his face looking like a ‘Marcolito’ – a little boy Marco.

During the applause the cameras focused in on Senator Leahy and Rep. Jim McGovern D-MA, both longtime supporters of normalizing relations with Cuba. When President Obama recognized Alan Gross and the chamber gave Alan a standing ovation, you could see Alan mouthing ‘thank you’ to the president.

But the cameras zoomed in on the person who was probably the only one still seated along with Marco, Rep. Ileana Ros Lehtinen, a Cuban-American and the most despised person in Cuba.

She had this very angry look on her face, and based on her history she was probably wishing she had her in-house assassin Luis Posada Carilles on hand to settle things. I wanted to get a few laughs so I DVRed back to see Rubio sitting and pouting. But something suddenly dawned on me.

The reason Marco looked so small is because all the men around him were standing up and he came about to their waists in his chair. Those men around him were Republicans! They were cheering the president’s words of ending the embargo that has accomplished nothing in 50 years!

We may have more supporters and allies than we think in the US Congress.

Alan Gross’ Lot Was Cast 22 Months Before His Arrest

USAid development contractor sits in a Cuban jail which he had occupied for almost five years. The gullible class continues to perpetuate the myth that he was only in Cuba working to help 300 Jews get better access to the internet. That he was railroaded. Or as the intellectually challenged people at Capitol Hill Cubans claim, that he is a hostage.

Whatever we think of Cuba and their political system and laws, their laws are their laws. How many 16 – 21 year olds come here from Europe and complain that our drinking laws are much too draconian?

So using a lie to wedge Alan Gross into ‘victimhood’ has done him a disservice since the day he was convicted. All manner of political player has gone to Cuba asking that he be released on Humanitarian grounds. When the Cubans mention their own citizens – The Cuban Five – jailed in the US after being convicted on charges drummed up by the Miami Cartel these American envoys have gone tone deaf. In February 2008 the Vatican Secretary of State Tarcisio Cardinal Bertone visited Cuba to meet the new president Raul Castro. The cardinal presented a list of political prisoners the Vatican wished to be released. Here is an excerpt from the Catholic News Agency February 29, 2008 article

Raul Castro, Tarcisio Bertone

The Vatican cardinal said President Castro also brought up the issue of five Cuban prisoners in the United States and their humanitarian treatment, “with the eventual possibility of an exchange.”  He also stressed that since the embargo directly affects the inhabitants of Cuba, he “gave assurances that the Holy See would work to have these sanctions reduced, if not altogether eliminated.”   http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/castro_interested_in_prisoner_exchange_with_us_says_cardinal_bertone/

Twenty two months before Alan Gross was arrested, convicted, and offered up for exchange, the arrest was predicted by Raul Castro. Neither Gross’ synagogue nor 300 rabbis, no member of the House or Senate is going to effect the return home of Alan Gross who has said goodbye to his family and sworn to not spend one more birthday in a Cuban jail.

President Obama can bring Alan Gross home with the swipe of a pen releasing the final three of the Cuban Five. But he is intimidated by a one of the most vile and evil women in Congress, the woman who has the blood of 79 murder victims on her hands, Ileana Ros Lehtinen.

Nicknamed ‘La Cochino’ (the male swine) by everyday Cubans, she is the most hated woman in Cuba. She stands second only to her murderous bedfellow, the terrorist Luis Posada. Her father was allegedly one of the cogs in the Batista Dictatorship, the man who used to go around collecting tribute payments from Mafia-owned casinos. She hates the Castros, hates the Cuban people and does everything in her power to make their lives miserable.

When the cowards known as the ‘Brothers to the Rescue’ were shot down after violating Cuban airspace and dropping 500,000 leaflets over Havana, her jaw went into overdrive. Though she feigned sadness, to this woman those four dead Cuban exiles were collateral damage. She managed to bring forth the Helms-Burton Act.

I believe Ileana Ros Lehtinen secretly hopes that Alan Gross does die in prison or take his own life. Here and her Cuban-American cohorts in Congress would then have more fodder for their anti-Castro rants.

I wish President Obama would stand up to this evil woman and do the right thing for Alan Gross and his family. And those 300 rabbis can point out to the president that over it’s 60+ yer history, Israel has traded prisoners with it’s sworn enemies at the ratio of 64 given for every one returned to Israel.

Hatred for Ileana Ros Drowns Ladies in White

She is the most hated woman in Cuba, second only to her terrorist bedfellow who she has colluded with on covering up mass murder and terrorism for over two decades. Her nickname in Cuba is La Cochino (the male swine) And regretfully because of the embargo that she and her criminal cohorts fight relentlessly to enforce, the hate that the Cuban people feel for Congresswoman Ileana Ros Lehtinen has swamped Los Dames de Blanco, the Ladies in White.

On my recent 11th Mission trip, I attended my 7th and 8th 10:00 am St Rita’s Masses with the Ladies. I’ve always considered it an honor that as the women file in they sit in my pew and those in front and behind me. I have attended every Mass by myself, always getting a response of ‘we’d rather attend our own parish and see our friends and pastor’ when I have asked friends to accompany me. Like many parishes in Cuba, Mass attendance can be as few as 20 people and as many as 100+. Attendance at St. Rita is usually no more than 50, including the Ladies.

On July 20th my driver Roger was headed to a family gathering in Ciboney so he asked to drop me at St Rita’s early. I was very surprised to see the 8:00 am Mass let out with well over 150 people in attendance. After the lightly populated 10:00 Mass I spent time talking with the Ladies, then processed a ways with them on 5th Avenue.

I had called for a state taxi and when he arrived I crossed the street. The driver got out of the car and asked me if I supported the Ladies in White. When I replied in the affirmative he spit on me then cursed me and the Ladies. So I walked nearly 4 kilometers towards the Vedado neighborhood where I went to the house of some friends.

I explained what happened and the husband, wife, and grandfather all looked at one another. Ernan the husband said, “Paulo, Los Damas de Blanco are not liked in Cuba. Many people resent them trying to interfere with the government. They are los boquillas de La Cochino.” (the mouthpieces of the Male Swine, Ileana Ros Lehtinen)

I asked my friends if they knew what Los Damas stood for, and what their struggle was about – supporting and bringing light to the plight of men imprisoned for opposing the Castro regime. They pled ignorance. Later that day at a gathering of 22 friends I posed similar questions. I received similar responses from well-educated persons who are nevertheless in the dark because their sole sources of information are Communist Party newspaper Granma, and Los Noticias on television, and lack of interaction with the outside world, specifically the US.

I also received some confessions as to why friends had refused to attend Mass with me at St Rita’s and why attendance is heavy at the 8:00 am Mass. As to the latter, Cubans want to avoid being in the presence of Los Damas – in fact parishioners at St Rita wished they would go away And regarding my flying solo to Mass my friends thought I was likely to be arrested for fraternizing with The Ladies and did not want any association with that.

I tried to explain to the group what Los Damas stood for, how they won the Sakharov Prize for Free Thought, but to no avail. I am usually successful bringing people around but not in this case. The Cuban people hate Ileana Ros Lehtinen with a fierce passion. Drop her name to a group of men playing dominos or arguing beisbol on Esquina Caliente and they will argue over who would get to her first with a machete if she ever set foot in the country.

And so by positioning Los Damas de Blanco as ‘mouthpieces’ of Ileana Ros, the Cuban government has destroyed all credibility the Ladies may have ever had. Only tens of thousands of tourists – sneakers on the streets – interacting with everyday Cubans could turn this around.

Back from 11th Cuban Mission Trip

I am back in the US after my 11th Mission trip to Cuba, a 16 day venture that took me to Havana, Pinar del Rio, Matanzas, and Santa Clara. I got to congratulate Jaime Cardinal Ortega on the 50th anniversary of his Ordination. I attended Mass twice the Damas de Blanco (Ladies in White) and shared with them IRS documents to show them how much ‘Cuban Democracy Funds’ are being looted and pilfered by various parasites in Miami affiliated with the woman known in Cuba as La Cochino (the male swine) Ileana Ros Lehtinen. They were floored. I also showed them the benefit of tourism to their cause and they agreed. And I came to learn more about the attitude of everyday Cubans towards them.

I had the opportunity to travel on the team bus of one of the countries most revered baseball teams, something never done by an American. I convinced a young man who had left Havana for Matanzas to return home just in time for the birth of his son and to reunite with his girlfriend.

In Havana, posing as a well-heeled American I went in search of kiddie sex, a favorite topic of US Senator Bob Menendez and the ethically impotent and intellectually barren Mauricio Claver (this is America speak English and use one last name). These two men may get their thrills talking about it but it does not exist and I was lucky not to find myself on the leading edge of a machete.

Finally my assistant in Cuba, Luis, has come with me to the US for a 10 weeks visit having obtained a B-1/2 Visa earlier this year. From a Havana barrio to American Airlines’ First Class. Seeing him in awe at Best Buy, trying on $500 suits at Dillards, has been an awesome experience.
